Angel

by girlnextdoor   Jan 2, 2010

The angel was dying to be on earth
to see him once again
for she had gone too soon
and the halo just caused pain

so she made plans with he devil
clever in disguise
as an old and lonely man
just longing for the sky

and the devil bet his soul
and the angel bet her wings
on a bet they both would lose
winning them their dreams

as she waited and she hoped
she came to realize
the the old man was the devil
he had no soul to
bet
but those wings he gladly
stole

now heaven had no place for her
as she went deep down below
right past her lover, still on earth
into evils greedy hands

yet heaven, hell was all the same
for her without him, still
and she laughed at the devil

fool you did not win
you take that heart
it's yours to keep
along with all the sin
