Holding On With You

by Elise   Jan 19, 2010

Long ago, I was pushed over the edge of a cliff;
Left and forgotten, I held on with nothing but darkness below.
I cried out and screamed but all I got was the echos return.

Occasionally, I slipped and fell further down into the darkness;
But somehow managing to grab hold again,
The top was disappearing in the distance;

Ready to let go, to fall;
Ready to give up, I said goodbye;
So ready to just end it all;
But than out of the darkness you appeared.

You were holding on too;
Having just as much trouble as me to not let go;
You'd been hanging here for as long as I have;
But still had the strength to move closer to me.

So together we hold on without knowing why;
Side by side in this darkness we keep each other strong.
I won't let go if u don't;
If you fall, I fall with you.

And together we'll make it back over the edge..I hope....
