Never is a Promise

by ntv650   Jan 30, 2010

Beauty that ever glows,
Where is it you now haunt?
Temptation in my room lingers,
Where hands and eyes may wander.
But the heart it remains locked
And cannot follow.

Desire inside me strong,
Why must you so loudly call?
Distance is where my true resides,
Where affection and embrace is free.
But I am bound falsely behind
And I grow tallow.

Never is a promise,
What words more cruel?
Loneliness makes the idle sinful ,
When empty kisses wile away the time
And I have nothing to offer.
I am rotten.
