Feelings Change

by ntv650   Feb 5, 2010

I don't understand you like I use to,
I see past the words you say,
And I see the truth underneath them
And the truth twists what I see.

I no longer feel beyond your body, your lips,
The world holds little comfort beyond those things,
And I'm trying to find a moment to tell you,
That I just don't feel the same way I once did.

There is passion, there is want, in your kiss
But emotions are hollow, they are meaningless
What innocence you once held in my eyes
Has dwindled into the nothingness

Your laugh, seems so two-faced, your behaviour
Is no longer opaque, I see beyond the farce
And underneath is a person I do not love,
Underneath is nothing there once was.

And I'm on hands, on knees, digging with nails
To find an ancient fragment of what I once knew,
A girl more beautiful than you have become
Little did she know, what you are
