Life Goes On

by Daniel Rutter   Feb 11, 2010

She said,
I love you baby,
I never doubted that,
Everyday that went by,
I never questioned my love,
I knew what I felt,
With every kiss,
With every hug,
Every touch,
Every stroke,
But now I know,
That I must go,
Because I'm no longer in love,
With the idea of my life with you.
So I will walk away,
But I will think about you,
Everyday.
Because I loved you,
You loved me too,
But life must go on.

I did,
Nothing but watch,
As she walked away,
The sting of what she said,
The burning of the final kiss,
My heart is walking away from me,
And all I want to do is scream.
The arms I once held her in,
lifeless at my side,
My faith in love,
Just died.
So I watch,
As she walks away,
I'm hurting now,
But life moves on,
I'll forget about her,
Even though I respect her,
I still love her,
But life must go on.
Life
Must
Go on...
