Relentless

by Sarah Dawn   Feb 24, 2010

Lying in bed, staring out the window
Silent tears, steady as the rain
Soak my pillow, dusk till dawn
Relentless memories, flood my thoughts
Love I tasted, now I am wasted
The smell, sweeter than the finest
The look, more precious than dew on a rose
Fell so fast, sure you would be there
Opened my eyes, where did you go?
Never again, have I seen your smile
Never again, have I felt your arms
Missing you so badly, where did I go wrong?
Relentless torment, shoving away sleep
Here will I lay, dusk till dawn
Wishing you were here, wishing I were there
My arms are here waiting, open
My heart, in your back pocket
Battered and bruised, pierced and scarred
Waiting on, a rainy day
The rain is falling, steady as my tears
Still, you are not here
When will it be, rainy enough for me?
