Love is a Journey

by Elias Fernandez   Mar 15, 2010

I met you right before Valentines Day and while I was struck with your beauty it was for the first time in my life it was not a blinding light, it was not an earthquake that shifted my soul, and it was not a shout of passion unbridled.

It was a gentle whisper of your heart that called to mine. It was the comfortable silence while my heart began to soar when our fingertips met for the first time. It was the hours of sharing your life with mine. It was a slow dance in three quarter time.

I now know Love is not a race. It is not a leap of wild abandon. Love is a journey, it is a long conversation, and it’s a lifetime of two souls wrapping themselves around the other creating a cocoon that will be their ship, their Amazing Grace, which will lead them home.
