Armor.

by mo_gan   Mar 20, 2010

I have built of a suit of armor;
It has diamond linings, and it's made of steel.
You can not penetrate it, because I made it
special, and that's how I like it
and that's how I've always liked it.
And that's how I'll always like it.

Inside my suit, I am protected.
I only need myself. Myself only needs me.
Friends come and go, and there is always me,
that's how it's been, and that's how I like it.
and that's how I've always liked it
and that's how I'll always like it.

I've built up this armor,
and it's been built for years,
and no one can hurt me, no one can touch me
then someone wanders into my life
this someone isn't different from anyone else
yet I give them a peice of me, and they don't know it
they don't ask for it.
that's how it is.
that's how it will be.

I own my life, it is mine.
no one else can have it
but me in my suit of armor.
then this person who I've
realtivly started to trust
smiles at me, and he kisses me
and I can taste him
and now my life isn't mine
and that's how it will be.

Now my armor is off
all my defneses are down
and my skin feels cold.
this person touches me with his fingers
and he burns holes in my skin.
he opens my chest, he gets inside me
and I let him
and this is how I want it to be.

This is to you, Nathan Franks.
