Is this spring going to come? (revised).

March was peacefully sleeping when
A heated argument began.
Who argued? April was the 1st,
And the 2nd was May, of course.
Two gentlemen, April and May
Were discussing who was the main,
Not in the year - just in the spring.
Interesting? What do you think?
What's your opinion? Guess which one!
And don't think it was for fun
Or they had been off their nuts.
Although March was in the hut
(Number 2, four huts all in all),
Choose April or May and call.
April said, "Agree it's my time."
May surprised, "Really? And why?"
April replied, "Snow-drops!
They look fantastic on sod,
And everyone feels spring's come!"
"Ha!" laughed May and added, "Well done!
I'd agree, but some snowstorm,
And who sees spring? It's a taunt!
Trees are in blossom, bushes too,
When I rule. I'm the main month..." "Coo!
Unless I melted snow, they
Couldn't blossom, my brother May,"
Objected April. "Unless I...
Wow! You can melt snow, guy!
Isn't it the sun that does it?"
Mocked May. "I laugh at your conceit.
May, for example, I know March thinks
You and June are as like as two peas",
Said April. " I don't care,"
Replied May, "A brown bear
Sleeps less than this sleepyhead!" "Ah!
You're about my friend March!"
Cried somebody outside, then
February came in. "Again?
What's the reason now?" smiled he,
"Is March gonna wake up? Tee-hee!
I knew that! You've forgotten all!
No wonder. What a great brawl!"
"Answer one question", exclaimed May,
Stopping February on his way
To March's bed, "Which of us is
The main spring month? Feb, tell us, please!"
"What a question! No doubt,
It's March. Until he gets out,
Spring can't begin. I'm not gonna
Work outside any longer.
Now let me wake him. Oh!
My holiday's a good goad!
I've been working twenty-eight days!"
Cried February, looked at May
And laughed, "What's happened? Ha-ha!
I was a bad man to ask!"
"First of all March is your friend!"
Cried April (he waxed indignant).
"First?" smiled February, "What else?
Time's flying!" "Nobody says
You and March differ too much!"
It was May, "And one more touch!
Shouldn't you be more polite
Talking with the host?" "Why?"
Asked February. "Just because!"
Cried May. "You aren't slow to wrath.
I see! My friend can't be the first
As he's sleeping. Don't accost.
If you wanna be the main,
Let it be! But March must wake
Because this year isn't leap!
If you can't understand this tip,
I'm tired, my time's up now,
And we must be getting out!"
Said February, caught his friend,
Said, "Bye-bye!" and out he went.
