Just Maybe

A girl I once held
(oh, always) sweetly
in my arms

is alone.
she drinks, never
sleeps.
on pins and needles
bleeding to relieve her
thoughts:

she'll drown in them,

someday.

but oh, if I held her
(yes, sweetly) one last time,

maybe she'd be okay...
