CATCHING KISSES

by katie T Scott   Apr 18, 2010

Sweet in the daylight, comes your miracle shower,
You send a raindrop every hour,
Of every day, of every year,
And never stop a single tear.

I cant quite catch the ones that fall like prayers,
Shattering into the cooling air,
Some fall as a fluttering kiss,
But those are the ones I always miss.

The others burn like acid rain,
And they never miss their lonely aim,
I stand and take them willingly,
With just a hope you'll notice me.

Because even those horrid, acid tears,
Have helped me through the lonely years,
Just to know you're always there,
To send another acid prayer.

Keeps me wanting, Keeps it real,
To always catch, to always feel,
The day will come, all scarred and burned,
Ill get everything I've ever earned.

A kiss will fall to my open hand,
You'll look down and understand,
You'll see that I've always been around,
Catching Kisses on the ground.
