Summer of my innocence

by miracle   Jun 25, 2010

I miss the summer of my innocence.
the rose colored glasses i wore to save her
at my own expense.

the hoody with the skulls that i keep.
laying in bed cling to it in my sleep.

from the days i met u at the pool,
to you walking me home after school.

i miss the summer of my innocence,
believing in the line "i love you"
and when she said
"i only want to if u want me to"

theses nights that i never wanting to end,
to falling in love with my best friend.

i never knew her deep brown eyes could lie.
not wanting to realize our relationship could die.

i miss the summer of my innocence,
when ignorance was bliss.

I do tend to agree with that last line...'Ignorance is Bliss' ...It sure as hell can be. Awwh...This definitely has that sense of nostalgia and it's clear here, that you're longing for the better sweeter days. :(
