To Kill a Mockingbird

by Bria   Jul 16, 2010

I’ve heard it said that it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.
but what is it to hurt one. And consistently
try and brake one. To not fully kill it but torture it
with the thing s you say
as if it was a prisoner of Guitonamo Bay. To
put a bullet into its heart with out breaking any skin.
And then Still have the nerve to stand with a straight face
And ask it to sing. And sing it does. but not because you’ve
so selfishly asked it to, but because this mockingbird is
Special. Because the soul of this mockingbird is stronger
than any bullet, any addiction and any toxic word that can
Spill out your mouth like a river. This mockingbird knows
it’s day will come. When all those who stand around her,
trying to down her will ONE DAY be the ones who need and depend on her!!!
So for now she will fly as if she never was doubted, And SING
as if she was never HURT!!! That mockingbird is me, and as
I rap up this poem I lay back in to this seat with a heart that screams no matter
how hard you try I WILL NOT BE BEAT!!!!!!
