Too Young to Know

by Stephanie   Jul 20, 2010

I can't imagine life without him
but at the same time...
I can't imagine staying with him
for the rest of my life

I want to say I love you
But I can't bring myself to do it
It's not because I don't
It's because I don't think I know what love is.

I'm seventeen.
How am I supposed to know if this is love?
I guess it's the feeling of forever
when you are with that one you love

That must be nice
to know you love someone
and be able to be sure
to not doubt.

He tells me he loves me.
But how can he sound so sure?
He deserves better than me.
He deserves someone who'll say "I love you too"...

I can appreciate this poem, because I feel that it relates to almost everyone. To give it a critique, I think you could make it a bit more poetic..but it is great subject matter. lots of potential. thanks for the read! :]

Great poem. I can relate to what your saying. The problem with people like us is that we rush to quick and start saying I love you right away once the date was set. Just because you really like someone doesn't always mean you love em.
