Words of Love

by John   Jun 18, 2004

As always I really miss having you right here by my side,
And my horoscope said that I should write
A love note; I’ll abide.

You’ve told me you’ve felt cheesy putting to words the way you feel.
Yet here I am, another poem,
It's your heart I aim to steal.

Please never feel embarrassed putting your feelings into words.
I’ve never found them “cheesy,”
Nor embarrassing, or absurd.

For no one’s ever said I’ve given butterflies before.
And hearing those words from you Suzanne,
Makes me love you even more.

In all the songs I’ve sent to you, and everything I’ve written,
I want you to know how much I care,
And that with you I’m truly smitten.

It’s amazing how much of the day is spent thinking about you.
Things we’ve done, things we’ve said,
And things we hope to do.

You’re a wonderful companion, truly my best friend,
And how I feel for you my love
I know will never end.

So please always tell me, your feelings and don't fear,
Hearing them says you love me
And why you want me near.
