My Phoenix

by Ahmed Ali   Aug 19, 2010

Ablaze, I burn to a crisp of no return.
I diminish to a grade of no concern.
My ashes darken & spoil the ground.
The wind will come to spin me abound.

My eclipse has come to forever stay,
Turning my black & white life, to a dimming gray.
I have fallen & I have died,
My angels, to me, they have lied.

There is no such thing as destiny or fate.
There is no love in the presence of hate.

Although, there might, still be hope,
From this despairing & free falling slope.

You are my phoenix; you have given me a spark.
You have become light, for what was once dark.
Ashes turn to flame & flames turn to flesh.
Life has burned its way back, to warm & refresh.

My eyes breathe to live, to feel the burning heat,
Looking forward, to the next chance, that we can meet.
The wind has come, spinning me around,
Voices of love, me they have found.
