One night stand

by Kaila   Aug 23, 2010

The heat beneath my skin is moving faster;
Quickening it's pace until it approaches.
My heart is thriving for it--pleading.
All it does is escape from under me.

It slithers away, putting on recycled clothes,
From the sweetened day before this mess.
Up, up, and away it travels circling--moving.
It runs away from my thriving heart and on,
To the next.

    I read this poem three times and interpreted it differently each time. I absolutely love it. It's short and easy to ready but not simple at all. If you read this one too fast you'll miss what it has to say. I'm curious to know how you felt while you wrote this.
