A World Apart

by Ross H Bruce   Sep 2, 2010

Into this lonesome world of mine
Where I clasp my hands and pray
Only teardrops I hear and a sigh.

Where is she my beloved rhyme?
That keeps my physical existence at bay
Would she linger in my heart and mind?

She is vibrant and in her prime
A goddess sculpted slowly in clay
That would stand out until the end of time.

To rest my heart in her soul is a crime
I wish and hope there is another way
To ease this excruciating pain of mine.

O let me swallow this island's pride
And have an inner courage to say
I wish our hearts and souls intertwine .

But our fate is out of rhyme
Our worlds are so different and far away
Only faith could hold my heart and mind
To be with her in another life, forever time.
