My Superman

by Saara   Sep 15, 2010

I'm standing in your doorway
Staring at you across the room
Can you see in my eyes?
How much I really need you

When you hold me close
I can feel love in my heart
And it hurts to think that later
You'll be holding her in your arms

Because I know you better
I'm the one who understands
And later I know you'll want me
Because I'm the one who truly cares

I watch you fly out the window
Before we get to close
You get close enough to keep me
So you don't have to let me go

A phone call is all it takes
And I'm over right away
The other girl in the picture
This just isn't my way

I lose myself
When it comes to you
No control over anything
That I say or do

What happened to the old me?
The strong and independent me
I am blinded and it's killing me
I need to learn to see

I feel stupid for sticking around
Say goodbye? I think I might?
How odd that my superman
Is my kryptonite
