While You Were Sleeping

by Kelsy   Sep 16, 2010

Good morning, Sunshine
Your breath may smell
A toothbrush may be needed
But your smile's so bright
It stops all senses but sight

You snored last night
So loud & so clear
I'm sure you woke the neighbor
But it didn't bother me any
Its my lullaby of choice
All I need to hear
To fall asleep
To be alright

Did you know that you kick while you
Dream while you slip into
Slumber so peaceful it's
Mind-boggling how deeply you
Fall into my heart & make it
Slam against my rib
Cage...d in your arms so
Comfortable you make me
Sigh...s of relief you make me
Cry to the mountaintops my endless
Love for you so true, so clean cut & so
Vulnerable you make me something
Real, live pulses entwined so tightly
Bound to my heart strings
Just pull them tighter
Just pull me closer
