As I turn the lights out

by The Rising Pheonix   Oct 15, 2010

As I turn the lights out and look at you
A grin is drawn on my face
Knowing that you dont know my night life
You think I am there by your side when you fall asleep
Id rather you live that comfy lie
Than ever learn the truth

I am the bringer of death
To those that deserve it most
The ones who torment others for fun or sport
I turn their games on themselves and laugh as they cower
And on the final run that is when they learn my name
I am the not the beginning of the end. Im what is left in their death

As my job comes to an end I run in the shadows
To make it back to bed
So That my secret can stay hidden
So you wake up with me by your side
As I sleep off my night shift
And you call me the best thing in your life
