I'm Waiting For The Moment

by RebelForever   Oct 26, 2010

**it's long. and more of a song. sorry for length. written to someone.**

It started off two years ago, a silly romance.
We were just two kids, nothing made to last.
That's what I told myself but as time went by,
It seemed like nothing else stayed by my side.

We've been through the good, the bad, and the worst.
Maybe you're my gift or maybe I'm your curse,
But nothing changes the fact that we're here again:
The closest companions, the best of friends.

You say that you're sorry, you love me.
All I can do is whisper as I leave:

I'm waiting for a feeling deep inside,
When I won't be afraid and I won't ever hide.
I'm waiting to be captured by your eyes,
Amazed by your gaze, sent flying through the skies.
I hope you know I care and want this too,
But I'm waiting for the moment when my heart says
I'm for you.

Just the other night we were walking, happy and aimless.
You held me close, breathed me in, was I anxious?
Then we talked the night away, staring at the stars.
We laid there blissful, the world was ours.

The next night I took the light rail through the dark and the rain,
I wanted your hugs again, maybe I'm a little insane.
We watched a movie, my hand creeped into yours.
We cuddled real close, it felt good, old times restored.

I could tell I confused you, I'm sorry.
Just wait a little longer 'cause you see

I'm waiting for a feeling deep inside,
When I won't be afraid and I won't ever hide.
I'm waiting to be captured by your eyes,
Amazed by your gaze, sent floating through the skies.
I hope you know I care and want this too,
But I'm waiting for the moment when my heart says
I'm for you

We're at the beginning again, your heart on the floor.
You hold out your hand, waiting for me to walk through the door.
I can't deny I feel something for you,
But I just can't take the steps 'cause

I'm waiting for my heart to beat so loud, you can hear it.
For you to look at me, so in love, I can feel it.
I'm waiting to make sure we won't break each other's hearts.
'Cause I don't want to lose you, our friendship can't break apart.

For a little longer, hold me close.
I promise I won't be your lethal dose.

I'm for you..

Wow,..this is really similar to an experience of mine. I could make a comment about the length of the poem, but I realize in all honesty that when trying to express a feeling, and catalogue a period of time, it is extremly challenging to capture that in a short little poem. So nice job! I enjoyed the read.
