I Don't Need to Dream If I Sleep Beside You

by Viola   Oct 29, 2010

This is how it all starts
i want to reach for your hand in the middle of the night
under the blankets
watch you sleep
kiss you in the morning
you gave me a toothbrush
and your t-shirt to sleep in
and from now on
your bed is mine too
i can dig through your closets
and your sisters will let me use the bathroom first
in the morning
i hate to leave you
under the streetlight we part with a kiss
and it'll be 34 hours until i see you again
and the autumn wind is too cold without you
my coat won't keep the chill out
but i walk down the street smiling
holding the memory of you holding me
though the night in my eyes
so that every stranger i see
sees how happy you are making me
