Another Mistake

by Taylor   Jan 4, 2011

Another day I walk down these halls
Once again a time I believed in hope
But I suppose I was wrong, so wrong
The mind's strength can only last so long

Took your words into mind
I wasn't aware they were going to bite me in the end
I've got the bruises and the scars
That can only get me so far

I looked into your eyes seeing purity
A sense of positivity I was not familiar with
It brought a wave of excitement over me
Until it died out quickly

I needed those arms around me when the tears fell
No one was there to keep me from breaking
You said I could lean on you
But honey if I did you'd be bending too

Made a mistake, twisted my own thoughts
Into a fantasy of which could never be true
The way you spoke to me made me realize it's not the end
But then I realized, you spoke to me, seeing me as your 'bestfriend'
