And So It Is, Just Like You Said It Would Be

by Viola   Jan 13, 2011

Today
i want nothing but to reach for your hand
under the blanket
count your breaths as you sleep
pay silent omens to your beating heart
for keeping me safely inside
just yesterday
i had your stuff packed by the door
it tore me apart to see
i couldn't bare the thought of letting my poisonous mind
imprison you to this splintering pain
the venom slowly starting to flow in your veins
4 am and i'm shaken to the bone
with the thought of walking away
how do i tare apart
my life from yours?
we are like the roots of a tree
flowing deeply, intricately underneath
a connection impossible to separate
i am left trying to remember the taste of your kiss
the rhythm of your heart, your hips
the warmth of your chest holding me
to salvage, to find any moment
any means of holding on
in the moment of letting go
