An Inflamed Romance

by Ross H Bruce   Feb 8, 2011

What happened to our inflamed romance?
I thought our love was in a trance
The castle we built in our minds
Crumbled into sand beneath my eyes.

Rain's pouring hard since you've left
My soul's weeping, spirit's depressed.
For better or worse that's our pact
Your emotion's darkened when I slacked.

I cannot blame you for acting that way
Serenity in life is what you've prayed.
Glittering objects are your desired
Your love won't ignite without a fire.

So I'll vanish with a burning heart.
I wish you luck with your new spark.
But when the fire dies or turns blue
Search for my flame to comfort you.
