Payback

I crossed a line when I fell in love with you
It became a brick wall afterward
There was no going back, no erasing the past
Even with as much as it hurt.

We all wish for just a glimmer of hope
For that light just beyond the dark
For that exceptional love, that's never enough
But always sates the heart

And, I found all this in you, my love
You were the epitome of all my desire
But in a single day, you stripped it away
And laughed as you set it on fire.

So I arose from my ashes of sorrow
I have a new agenda for you and I
I am a new man with a beautiful plan
that will give me my "Eye for an eye"

You took a great leap when you fell for me
You dove before growing your wings
On the way down, you hoped you'd be caught
By the one for whom you heart sings

But that melody skipped a few beats
When there was no Silhouette above
As you face your fears, and the heartache nears
You will learn the true agony of love
