I remember that you once asked me to live without tv and internet for one whole week..and I couldn't! LOL

You are right though, life is best when you do away with all the "luxury". I remember when we went camping, as kids, and we had so much fun just swimming and running and climbing trees:) I so wish I could have that back again, the fun I had then.

I know most people need "things" to make them seem more important, I never was the kind, hun..and I don't like very much to be around those who need it;) The biggest people in history were also the most humble and simple in their ways and appearence.

    Well done,

I love the story here, as a recovering addict I related to it well. Very well described, thanks for sharing

Lovely piece, funny how I read this poem then stumbled across some show last night called 'Super Millionaire' this guy is a millionaire and he had so many nice cars, nice house everything but gave up all he had for a week and went to skid row in Los Angeles to take in the lifestyle there and to see all the homeless people and help out, yet concealed his identity so they didn't know he had all the money he had. Yet at the end of the show he revealed it to them and gave people money who needed it. It was quite an interesting show, made me think of your poem here in a way.

There are so many things that make up who we are, whether they are things we have or if they are habits or interests or anything that makes up who we are, and when they are taken from us... it typically helps us discover more about ourselves.

Might wanna YouTube that show, it definitely gave me the same message that your poem did.

    Great poem! :)
