Missed Things

by Richard S   Mar 30, 2011

A sweet hand on my shoulder,
While sitting at the computer.
The stroking of my arm,
While watching TV.

Arms around my waist,
While at the sink.
A passionate kiss hello,
When you walk in the door.

A thank you for coffee,
First thing in the morning,
And appreciation for breakfast,
Not quite the same.

I know you love me.
Don't get me wrong.
But it amazes me how important,
These missed things can be.

Memories are somewhat bittersweet. This piece allowed the reader to see a part of your past, and get a sense of what you were feeling. It is very descriptive---
"A sweet hand on my shoulder,
    While sitting at the computer.
    The stroking of my arm,
    While watching TV.
    Arms around my waist,
    While at the sink."
    And very emotional---
    "And appreciation for breakfast,
    Not quite the same.
    I know you love me.
    Don't get me wrong.
But it amazes me how important,
    These missed things can be."
Really amazing piece. Keep writing :)
