Candie apple heartache

by cassandra   Apr 22, 2011

I remember the taste
of the sugared lust
bleeding through your lips
framing them in scarlet
like a child's mouth at the fair
after sucking out the love of a
candied apple.

I remember so clearly
how sticky your thoughts
of cigarettes and sex
clung to my sweetened heart

The cavities are eating through
tearing away my heart
but I still remember the taste
and I do not regret.
