Moments Memory

by GrimExpectations   Jun 18, 2011

I remember so clearly,
The day you moved away.
Out of our lives,
But not from our hearts.

The sun was shining,
The birds where singing.
Not a cloud in the sky,
Truly the perfect day.

Saturday afternoon,
Waking up late.
Never before 12,
Not for us!

Called your phone,
But you never picked up.
Shoes to the pavement,
Paying you a visit.

Three minutes too late,
I saw you drive away.
I gave chase,
But you were going too fast.

Your parents invited me in,
Told me you moved away.
We cried together,
For the rest of the day.

A few days later,
We had a party.
In your honor,
Wish you could have been there.

Everyone was so sad,
Missing you so much.
The best part of our lives,
Gone forever.

I still remember,
The night before you moved.
'I love you',
Our perfect goodbye.

You didn't move far really,
When I stop and think.
Just down the street,
And 6 feet deep.

I visit often,
Fresh flowers every week.
And sometimes I think,
I might move in next door.

This is a very deep and sad piece. Unexpected as they all say. I know what it's like to lose someone so fast. I love it.

I have chills reading this, a sign of a good write, Unexpected was right.
You had the reader going one way mentally then took a sharp turn into deep sadness great job
