Funny sometimes all could seem so flawed,
Yet we sit unfazed in our snow globe of bliss.
How all could seem ideal... so beautiful it's surreal,
Yet unaccounted pain resonate within.
Funny how greed breed in us;
How you claim you're living your dream,
Yet you yearn to live in another.
You run your fingers across veiled lures
Despite knowing you're ripping apart your living dream,
S t i t c h by s t i t c h as you go along.
Despite the fact that in that dream,
Sits the person whom you love.
How our throats seem choked with silence
As you had to watch another,
Give more than you can ever give
To the one person who holds your heart.
How beautiful it is to be unguarded, to feel
Yet a major fraction of the time, it seems to feel
As though we're trying to survive the unforgiving concrete jungle,
Armed with nothing but our raw skinless flesh.
How doing something uncharacteristically you just for someone out of love,
Feels like slowly dragging the tip of a knife across your beating heart.
But you do it anyways.
Despite its violent protests,
Despite its desperate beatings you can feel it through your bones
Despite the deafening pulsations in your ears and head, silencing everything else in that moment.
