Until

by Ashley   Aug 15, 2011

Until the morning shines its light,
My eyes are open wide.
Until you show your face,
These tears I will cry.
Until you get here
To wipe away these tears,
My heart will grow heavy
And cold.
Until you get here
To bring me to life,
I will grow dead inside.
Until you hold my heart,
It will remain black and gray.
Baby, please,
Take this pain away.
Get here soon,
Until then,
I'll be waiting,
At the edge of the bed,
As I bow my head.
Trying to keep alive what's already dead.
Deep inside my heart cries out.
Do you hear the shouts?
I need you so desperately,
It's almost sad.
But is it really so bad?
Until you get here,
My heart remains shattered and broken.
My eyes bloodshot,
Because now,
I'm nearly an insomniac.
Looking for some way to rest.
Rock me to sleep,
You've become my sleeping pill.
Once you're here,
On this I will not dwell.
