The Lie You Chose To Tell

by Janice Herzog   Aug 28, 2011

You're the one who pursued me,
Telling me that you loved me
Even wanting me to be your wife,
And for me to share your life
I was honest from the start,
In giving you my whole heart
Then, suddenly out of spite,
You decided I wasn't quite right
And thinking I wouldn't ever doubt,
You took the cowardly way out
Having your brother lie for you,
Was such a heartless thing to do
I've been searching high and low,
And now the truth I finally know
You were never sick, nor dead,
But, you're alive and well instead
I thought that I knew you well,
So why this lie you chose to tell?
