Off With My Crown

by Aerie Gerard   Aug 29, 2011

Strung between two twilights
In a cosmic world of dreams
Was a place where no one talked
Until finally someone screamed.

It was truly simple really
When a crack split up her heart
Her eyes closed and her mouth opened
As she politely fell apart.

Strung underneath his bounty
Was a world where no one spoke
Where not a single soul mentioned
Until finally someone broke.

It was oddly simple really
After she'd been broken and bruised
After everyone had left her
After they had left her so used.

Lit between two lightbulbs
That hang from the rotting sky
Is a world where we keep it all inside
Until finally someone had to cry.

In love with the mortal world
But the people are so cruel
It was strangely simple really
When I could no longer rule.

We sink to such places and off goes my crown.
Here now I will die so just follow me down.
