I'll be okay

After many months of contemplating, I gave up.
When you let somebody in you give them this power.
You took advantage of the power I chose to give you.
For so long I sat back, let you hurt me and needless to say I took you back a countless number of times.
Why you ask? Because I thought we were in love.
But I soon realized that when you love somebody, you'll do anything in your power to make them happy.
Happy is the keyword, but instead you chose to make my life miserable.
I made mistakes but I never took advantage of the love you had given. If anything I cherished every waking moment with you.
It took a toll on me, constantly arguing.
I would sit and ask myself why I just couldn't seem to be good enough?
At that very moment I realized I am good enough and you simply don't deserve me.
All it took was that one last fight, and I opened my eyes and realized that I would never let anybody belittle me the way you did ever again.
When I finally came to terms with you being gone, that's when I knew, I'll be okay.
