Our End

I wonder where you could be be,
Hey old friend do you remember me?
Reminiscing upon late fall nights,
in your arms where it felt so right.
I never thought that we'd be here,
within the time of one year.
Nothing wrong, just hurts, that's all.
Knowing it's not my name you'll call.

But who you are is not who you were.
That boy now's just a foggy blur.
I wish I could see him one more time,
then maybe he could be mine.
I'd correct all of my past mistakes,
so in the end no hearts would break.
Now you deliberately make this tough,
and the things I do aren't good enough.

So what do you really want me to say?
Getting told to give up. I think I may.
At least I can say I honestly tried,
as I walk away with a broken pride.
So I'll keep wishing on shooting stars,
hoping you're happy wherever you are.
Now maybe my broken heart can mend,
In this beginning to our end.
