Translucent Butterfly

by amanda   Sep 9, 2011

You came to me
when we were kids,
introduced by
others.

You soon became
my best friend,
and I yours.

We fight over
and over, always
returning
to each other.

I didnt notice
until you
started to
forget me,
that I love you.

You leave and
you flitter back
with a word
here or there,
and my hope
and love flares.

I wait for you,
my loyalty strong
and firm.

No matter how
many
tmes you put
me down
unconciously,
or lash your whip
on my open wounds.

I always wait for
the balm your
trust and friendship
offers me.

But forgive me,
for sometimes I
wonder,
what will happen
to me when you
move on?

I know that you will.

Because you are
my lovely
Translucent
Butterfly.

Wow! This is amazing! The message is so fantastic. The beginning is strong, the end just the same. There is a wonderful flow, and a beautiful word choice. Emotion is definatly present in this piece. I absolutely love this piece. It is so simple, yet beautiful. You describe what you want easily and quickly. You pull the reader in and slowly let them out. You have a great theme, and an even greater story. The length was perfect for the piece. Your own personal writing style came out very nicely in this piece. If this is not worthy of a 5/5 then almost nothing is. This is going on my favorites list, and I look forward to reading more of your work. Once again magnificent job!
