Mangled

by Francine   Sep 28, 2011

When I close my eyes, it is you that I see, your soft, cold, angry, loving eyes peering down at me. Yet I reach out and no one is there, those eyes, green, blue, brown, gold, they fade away. All of the reasons that you slipped away, ultimately they are all the same. Your drug, your girl, your angry ways, they are all excuses for why you didn't stay. Somehow it all falls down on me, you all will fade, you all will leave. And I will still be here with my heart on the floor, putting it together and slamming the door. I'm still in one piece, twisted and tangled. This heart still beats though it is mangled. Wondering when and if and who and where, hoping that time will take me there.
