I don't think is a dark poem but a very sad one. I was told that in life we have but a handful of true friends but a lot of acquaintances.
    Real ones are precious..

Your wording was affective, and emotional. Though sadness bleeds through the words, It was penned with brilliance

Connie is right, this is more sad than dark. In life we have very few true friends that will stand with us through the good and bad times. The acquaintances are the ones we typically have to watch out for. Very well done.

Sad or dark, matters not. For you are family.

Dude if you sang out of key, I'd say welcome to the club :P

Eventually I learn not to sing at all.
They have stolen the song from my lips.
Deep in my heart I desire to sing,
But I'm afraid I've forgotten the words.

This part is definitely sad. Friends depriving one of his essence and lust to sing.

    A brilliant composition. Penned. . =)

It's always difficult to be able to start trusting again after a person who you thought was your friend wrongs you. :(

    A good poem, 5/5

It is indeed very sad because we know friends who help but those we trust kill us makes it worse..a deeply touching write.

Brilliant! I loved how you used a song to inspire you to write and to connect the song with your emotions. Music is a beautiful thing that can inspire us and sometimes bandage emotional wounds. Nice write.
