Autumn Air

by Lofallenve   Oct 23, 2011

The stillness of an autumn night
The magnificence of a fall night sky
With your arms wrapped around me
That night was everything to me.
It was there in the tranquility of the lake
It was there in the spark in your eyes
It was there in that tantalizing smile of yours.
It was the inspiration that cause me to
Spill my secrets to you
The way I felt every time I saw you
The way my heart sings when
You hold me like this.
It is nights like these
The temperature in perfect balance
The cigarette burning my throat
You holding me tighter
The breeze gentle on our skin
Time feeling like it is freezing.
I wish that night did not have to end
But falling asleep with you was a good way to
End the unspoiled autumn night
And waking up with you
Is the perfect beginning.

A beautifully written poem with a powerful ending.
    I really liked it.

only one line didnt fit though

    The cigarette burning my throat,

the poem talks so much about the wonderful details of the place and moment. then all of sudden a cigarette is burning your throat.
    is that a good thing.

Also, I think in the poem the word cause, you meant to write caused.

    Still a beautifully written poem.
