Sunset

by Eacer   Oct 25, 2011

I stood watching the sunset. Great orange and red flames gathering in the bellies of dark clouds, filling the sky with brilliant striped patterns. The occasional twinkling star became visible against the darkening blue wherever the clouds broke apart. and in that moment, that instant before all color faded, before darkness crept across the sky I seen your face, lights and darks mixed to create this perfect hue which became the hazel brown of your eyes, the very clouds curved into your amazing smile and those twinkling stars became the sparkle in your eyes. all I could do was lie in the grass, take a deep breath, and smile back at this face painted by God on a heavenly canvas.
