Heaven Knows Ive Tried

Blow out with a sense of your own importance
Who do you think you are they say
But when all the men and women have gone
I will still be by your side
With my heart open wide
She satisfies your needs for now
You implore me to understand

But I really do not understand
And heaven knows Ive tried

Water for blood, emotions made from stone
So leave, go and be with her
And climb into to bed again alone
Destined to live and die on my own
My heart is still open wide
I really do not understand
What do you see in her?

What do you see in her?

I hope she was worth it
I really really do
Try to understand where im coming from
But I doubt you will

    I froze when I read this, for it bubbled up a lot of emotions and brought back memories of a similar situation.

    You've captured a situation that occurs more frequently then is talked about, and your heart is on your sleeve. "I will still be by your side"
