Winter's pale touch

by Azrael   Nov 14, 2011

As the cold wind blows it cools your to the bone but as winter nears all the flowers are gone Winter hides the living and everything turns to brown everything living hides under ground The warmth of the sun is gone and the cold draws near my heart brightens up and my soul starts to cheer Summer's warmth is gone for I enjoy the empty coldness winter is not for the timid it is much better for the soulless No leaves on the trees no flowers in their bed the ground is but a waste land a playground for the dead The smell of smoke fills the air from fires used to fight the chill it lingers in the valleys and rises up the hill So embrace the dead part of the year and bask in its cold embrace for this part of death keeps life in its place.

Very thought provoking write, I like how you described the winter season and how it has a way of concealing the living like animals, plants, and even those who are soulless.

    Nice write......AL

Thank you I tried to tie in how everything dies and winter. In the darkness and cold.
