Loves rosey thorns

by Guinevere   Dec 23, 2011

Our eyes were wild, adrenaline rushed through our veins,
secret kept, we ran far from everyone else.
Standing on the line, I put everything at risk,
fell into your arms, let my walls tumble down,
sunk into your love, embraced every kiss,
Spun into our world, only you and me exist.

The moment intense, what hurts the most, it's all past tense. Whirled into confusion, fallen to my knees, a feeling of defeat,
a race without the athlete, love without your heartbeat.

My trust torn apart, like paper ripped in half,
thrown to the ground, an end without a start,
a joke without a laugh.

behind my smile, tears fall without a sound,
your warm whispers echo, the hurt still pounds.

But we'll march on, hearts in a mess, put to the test. We'll say goodbye and walk out of this storm, wounds will heal, scars will form.

I won't love, I'll wear white gloves,
I'll resist cupids horn, I'll resist being torn ,
i'll resist being hurt by loves rosey thorns.
