Goodbye My Almost Lover

**This is the first poem I've wrote that rhymes in forever it seems so sorry

A dream come true
Became a broken heart.
They all said it would
Straight from the start.

But I did not listen.
I did not care.
I loved you fully
And would always be there.

You were the� one
Who had made me feel beautiful.
The one who stayed by my side
Throughout the terrible.

You owned my heart.
The love of my life.
We were inseparable.
Always by each other's side.

We had our ups and downs
And I was stupid to leave.
But couples have their problems
And we were apart for merely a week.

But then the day came
Where you left me for her.
My heart broke in two
And I felt so much hurt.

You promised me� 
Forever and Ever.
But I guess those days
Had turned into never.

The promises you made
Had all been broken.
I should have begged you to stay.
But my words stayed unspoken.

You missed the beginning?
Before we had split apart?
That was only two months.
Did you lose your spark?

So explain to me this-
For the rest of our time,
Were you unhappy?
Was what you said a lie?

Or did you make an excuse?
"It was all going downhill from the start."
Because that's not how I see it.
I've listened to my heart.

The time we were together
Made me love you more than words can express.
Do you recognize that line?
Did it pass the boundary I said I wouldn't trangress?

I guess you're really over it.
There's not much more I can say.
Goodbye my almost lover.
I guess you never wanted to stay.
