Rekindle

by amy   Jan 14, 2012

The lack of force you crave by his hands
his fingers, his touch, your hair, in strands.
the lack of love, the thirst for more
the constant reminder that you were once a good score.

the need for love to rekindle, remake, reborn
the feeling of a dried out rose, its rough jagged thorn
the urge to satisfy yourself, knowing its never enough
a pull, a thrush, the rush, you need it to be rough.

rough like it once was, exciting and new
rough like he used to be him and you used to be you
rough like skin, abrasions, tearing at the seams
but nothings like it used to be, or as it seems.

this poem is for anyone in a long term relationship who has felt their love for one another fade into an oblivion. and its about the fight and trying to do whatever it takes to rekindle that love. cuz that love is the best thing youve ever felt.
