The letter home.

by Zoe   Jan 20, 2012

To My Family,

I never thought I'd be writing a letter like this
I have no idea what to say.
I love you all so very much,
And I thought about you all every day.

I know that this is the last thing you wanted
To be delivered to your door.
I never wanted this to be sent,
But I can't give you any more.

To my wife, my dear, you are my one love
I pray you will forgive me for this.
I know there are things I still want to tell you
From the moment of our first kiss.

I married you for a lifetime of sharing,
And I'm sorry that I couldn't stay
It wasn't my choice, see, God needed me
And to God, I must obey.

Keep the kids smiling laughing and playing
And know I'll always be near.
I'll be watching over all of you everyday
And I'm sorry I couldn't be here.

Before you go to sleep, take a look outside
And take a look up at the stars
Do me a favor and count them with me
So I know I'll remain in your heart.

Before I go, I must tell you one last thing
And to the kids this goes for as well.
Don't let this hold back your lives,
Because I know you all can excel.

I'll be with you always even in times of doubt,
Even when you feel like letting go.
I'll be that energy to grab you and pull you
and to stop you from saying no.

I love you so much, and I'll see you soon
Don't worry about me going away.
I'll be with you again before you know it,
It'll be like any other day.
