Powerful imagery, very powerful poem. It could have been longer for me to enjoy all the more. Any country which produces talent, sensitive and accomplished, like this, has some redemption!
    Keep this up.

Raj, I think to some extent we are all mortified at the state of affairs in our respective countries. I know I am. I don't think politicians know what the word honesty means. Well done.

Mortified, is the right word for the way this world is becoming everyday. And the reality is...i ain't no saint either.

Somehow this poem reminds me of my childhood with honesty & present with corruption.

    Does your fumbling feeble mind
    remember me?
I was once known as Honesty.

    loved this ending...great write.

all the best and take care

Wow, these words are so powerful, so very vivid and just descriptive.

It is such a shame to have to write such a poem about your own country isn't it?

We should love our own place and not have to feel as you say appaled by it.

    Well written hun

Raj it's sad , it's horrific and intolerable but that seems to be the life in which ppl are handed.
Your poem captures the very core of this .
    Excellent piece of sadness

It happens in every corner of the world and nothing is done to change..it makes us feel sick to the guts and whilst honesty is been crucified! A strong and powerful write!
