I was not content, so I called you

by Merdy   Feb 3, 2012

I wonder what to think after I heard a mans voice answer the phone.
I understand what she meant, whatever reason she might have for her decision. I could see her situation, although I were sitting in Chicago. I could also hear the beseeching tone in her voice. There was nothing to do but to follow her example and politely ask how she was.
Like a pair of eyes, her voice pulled the other man into the picture... Hundreds of miles were between us, but I felt we were sitting in a room. I saw his glances, and felt my own awkward response in the moment, I glanced nervously at my watch, it was already adjusted to the time difference. It was past midnight... I finally understood the two of them were lying in bed together, and that I was as much an intruder as if I had walked into their bed room.
I ended the call abruptly... Again looked at my watch for the time.... And there was no watch.
